Getting married on the Sea of Cortez has one advantage no ballroom can match: sunset over the islands happens every day and cannot be decorated any better. It also comes with its own conditions, including wind, tide, heat and daylight hours, that are worth understanding before you pick a date. When to celebrate
The season governs everything else.
- October to December: the best window. Mild days, cool nights, warm water and clear skies.
- January to March: excellent light and cool weather, though north winds come in during the afternoon. Outdoor events need a setup with wind protection.
- April to June: calm wind and a settled sea. A very popular season.
- July to September: high midday heat. It works well if the ceremony moves to seven in the evening and the party runs at night.
The hour of good light
The good photographic window opens forty minutes before sunset. In winter the sun sets early, around five thirty; in summer, after seven. We set the ceremony time backward from there, not the other way around.
What kind of event fits on the beach

Common setups
- Ceremony on the sand: chairs in a semicircle, an aisle toward the water and a simple altar. Less is more: the backdrop is already the sea.
- Welcome cocktail: high tables, a bar and acoustic music at the water’s edge.
- Dinner under a palapa or tent: handles wind and night dew without giving up the view.
- Party on the terrace: solid floor, warm lighting and sound control after a certain hour.
Guest logistics

What guests do on the other days
An event in Loreto almost always turns into a three or four day trip. The activities that work best for a group are the snorkeling trip to Isla Coronado, kayaking in the bay and the drive up to San Javier. They are arranged through experiences with space held for the group.
Menu and drinks
The region’s cooking gives you a lot to work with at an event: grilled chocolate clams, scallops, the day’s catch, charcoal-grilled cuts and desserts made with dates from the sierra. We build plated menus or stations, with vegetarian and gluten-free options. The base of it is at the restaurant.
Permits and legal details
A civil ceremony requires arranging the judge and the paperwork in advance; a symbolic one does not. Celebrations in the beach zone have rules on music hours, open flame and waste: we handle what pertains to the property and tell you what your outside vendor needs to request. What equipment you need
A beach event calls for different planning than a ballroom. What we always sort out with couples: flooring or a platform for the tables if the sand is loose, your own warm lighting because the beach goes dark after sunset, sound sized for the outdoors since the sea swallows volume, and wind protection along the sides of the setup.
Then there are the comfort details that make the difference: fans or shade at daytime events, discreet insect repellent on the tables as evening falls, sandals or a shoe basket at the edge of the sand, and cold water available from minute one.
